Brian Zaharatos
Statistician
Dr. Brian Zaharatos earned his PhD in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Colorado School of Mines in 2015. His dissertation work, which was funded in part by the Department of Energy and the National Center for Photovoltaics, developed statistical methods to better quantify uncertainty for a class of photovoltaic (solar cell) performance models. Since earning his PhD, Brian has collaborated on a number of data analysis and educational projects, including methodological developments for residential building energy analyses, and statistical models that help geographers better understand the relationship between extreme heat and weather related mortality. Brian has also worked on a consulting team that provides statistical litigation support, and has interests in the philosophical underpinnings of statistics, and data ethics.
